Taking the Province by Storm
  When escorting Québec teachers downtown,
expect them to sign out loud and Halifax not to forget!

Downtowners

Painting the Town Red!
Stylized Most of them arrived in Halifax on Sunday, June 29, but it was only on Thursday that they were turned loose in Downtown Halifax to attend the Nova Scotia International Tattoo. The downtown core will never be the same. . . Imagine: 16 of them trying to sign Petula Clark's "Downtown," but the only lyrics they could remember were "Down-town, la-la-la-la, la-la. . ." Now they have their own version of this '60s' classic.
When you've done your work and your Media Watch
you can always go down town.
When you got studies, all the noise and the hurry
seems to help, I know — down town.

Just listen to the bagpipes and the traffic in the city,
linger on the sidewalks where the men in kilts are pretty.
How can you lose?
The sights are much nicer,
there you can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares.

So go down town.
Things'll be great when you're down town.
No finer place for sure down town.
Everything's waiting for you down town.

Don't stay at the Mount and let your homework surround you,
there's the Tattoo show down town.
Maybe you know of a dance place to go
where they never close down town.

Just listen to the rhythm of our gentle Nova Scotia

You'll be dancing with 'em too before the night is over
happy again.
The sights are much nicer,
there you can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares.

So go down town.
Where all the lights are bright down town.
Waiting for you tonight down town.
You're gonna be alright now down town.

Since you're away from home and you may feel lonely
you can always go down town.
When you got studies, all the noise and the hurry
seems to help, I know—down town.

And you may find somebody kind to help you with your English
someone who is just like you and needs a gentle hand to
guide them along.
So maybe I'll see you.
There we can forget all our troubles, forget all our cares.

So go down town.
Things'll be great when you're down town.
Don't wait a minute more down town.
Everything's waiting for you down town.
Down town, down town...(repeat & fade)
