Those Dear 1997 Q-Tips ur Q-Tips arrived feeling happy and sad Some said their English was good, some bad So we talked about verbs, prepositions and stuff And theory, and structure and idioms which are tough But those women from Québec couldn't get enough of the verbs ... so we practiced some more ... and some more 'Til I felt like walking (or is it to walk?) out the door Of course I didn't... We had to learn more ... verbs verbs verbs verbs And learn more about realia like fishing and camping and songs of the Mira and Snowbirds and wishing we could be in Cape Breton or kayaking or fishing or at least on the Mar II... Now that's realia for you What seemed like such long weeks are suddenly too few And now is the time to bid you adieu And MacGillivray's words are mine for you "Now I'll conclude with a wish you go well sweet be your dreams (in English!) and your happiness swell." |
